Last night, my friend sent me an email to get help solving the problem he met when configuring User Profile Synchronization on SharePoint. I did some search and I know that many of you got this problem too. You tried to start this service but no luck, it still stopped as below.
Hum.., just take some simple steps I give here and you will get it Start.
Step 1: on your SharePoint Server machine, go to Administrative Tools -> Active Directory Users and Computers. Right click on the root domain -> Delegate Control
Add the account you want to use for User Profile Service
Choose Create to a custom task to delegate option
Check Replicating Directory Changes box and Replicating Directory Changes All box
Step 2: open ADSI Edit by typing adsiedit.msc on Start. Select Action from menu bar -> Connect to…
Select Configuration from Select a well known Naming Context combo box.
Right click on tree view -> Properties.
Add the account you want to use for User Profile Service and check to Replicating Directory Changes box and Replicating Directory Changes All box.
Now, you’re done, let’s reboot your machine and try to start User Profile Synchronization Service (it will take a few minutes for starting this service). Here is the result.
Let’s take a look to Services on your SharePoint machine, you’ll see that 2 services, Forefront Identity Manager Service and Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service, are automatically start. So, now you can start synchronizing user profile.
